The rate of newspaper losses in the US has increased, with two-and-a-half newspapers being lost per week in 2023.
By the end of next year, a third of newspapers in the country will have been lost since 2005.
While local news startups are not keeping pace with disappearing news sources, efforts are being made to support and revitalize local news. [ more ]
